Darren Lyndon Espanto is a Filipino-Canadian singer and actor who gained fame at the age of ten. He won the Masters Finals of the Pinoy Singing Sensation competition in Edmonton and became the youngest finalist in the history of The Next Star. Espanto released his first studio album, Darren, in December 2014, which debuted at number 1 on the Philippine charts. He also set a record for being the youngest artist to perform at MOA Arena at the age of 14. In 2016, he released his sophomore album, Be with Me, featuring his carrier singles "7 Minutes" and "Starlight" and "Parachute". In 2018, he acted in the high-grossing Philippine movie The Hows Of Us. Espanto was invited as a guest performer in Singer 2019 in China and was appointed by the United Nations Development Programme as its first-ever celebrity Youth Advocate to promote Sustainable Development Goals. He released his latest single, "Tama Na," in May 2021, and represented the Philippines at Expo 2020 Dubai.
