Dong Abay, born Westdon Martin Abay, is a Filipino poet and rock musician. He was the founding member, songwriter, and lead vocalist of the bands Yano, Pan, and dongabay, which are now all defunct. In 2005, he pursued a solo career and in 2017, formed the rock band Dong Abay Music Organization. In 1992, Abay, Eric Gancio, and Larry Mapolon formed NG, which later renamed to Yano. The band's debut album in 1994 spawned classic Filipino rock songs. Abay quit his university studies in 1994 to pursue a career in music. He released two more albums under BMG, releasing "Bawal" in 1996 and "Tara" in 1997.
