Regina Encarnacion Ansong Velasquez is a Filipino singer and actress known for her vocal range and belting technique. Born on April 22, 1970, she gained fame after winning the Ang Bagong Kampeon and Asia Pacific Singing Contest. She signed a recording contract with OctoArts International in 1986 and released the single "Love Me Again". In 1987, she adopted the stage name Regine Velasquez and released her debut studio albums, Regine and Nineteen 90.
