Gary Gamutan Granada, a renowned Filipino musician, composer, poet, and singer-songwriter, is known for his political-themed songs. Born in 1960, he graduated valedictorian in elementary and high school but never attended college. Granada learned the ukulele, guitar, and piano at his father's insistence. He composed numerous songs about the Ginebra San Miguel Kings basketball team, including "Dugong Ginebra". In 2009, he accused the GMA Kapuso Foundation of violating his intellectual property rights. In 2017, he collaborated with Mariano Kilates on the City Hymn of Legazpi.
