Rachel Jingco Alejandro is a Filipino singer and actress, born in 1974. She began her theater career at the age of eight with The Sound of Music and later appeared in Peter Pan, Noli Me Tangere, Alikabok, Sino Ka Ba Jose Rizal, Larawan, and Fire Water Woman. Alejandro entered the showbiz world at the age of 12 as a TV host on That's Entertainment. Her first album, Just a Minute, went gold and her second album, Watch Me Now, featured a revival of her father's signature song, earning her the Awit Award for Best Performance by a Female Recording Artist and the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Foundation Award for Best Female Singer/Entertainer. Alejandro's career gained momentum when she competed at the Golden Stag International Song Festival in Brasov, Romania, winning the award for Best Interpretation of a Romanian Song. She released her first album, Tanging Pangarap, in 2001, and a self-produced album, Believe, in 2017. Alejandro has also appeared in films and theater productions, including Rent, Xanadu, Avenue Q, Aida, and Rock of Ages.
